Montefiore - Einstein Heart Center

Since performing its first open heart surgery in 1957, implanting the world's first pacemaker in 1958, and performing the world's first successful coronary artery bypass operation in 1960, the Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center has continued to build on its impressive credentials. Today, we offer patients exceptional expertise and extensive experience with a full array of state-of-the-art diagnostics and interventional treatments-from cardiac catheterization to robotic valve repair, and bypass surgery to heart transplants.

With our world-renowned cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons, the Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center is clearly one of the nations' elite cardiac care facilities. As recognized leaders in clinical research, we continue to grow our repertoire of innovative procedures while playing a major role in advancing the state of cardiac care. Our dynamic visionaries Robert E. Michler, MD and Mario J. Garcia, MD envision a day when no heart is too sick to survive.
