Abdominal Radiology
Our board-certified abdominal radiologists are subspecialized and fully dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal and pelvic diseases. We treat a broad spectrum of conditions, including cancer, abdominal pain, trauma, gastrointestinal complications, kidney stones, and dysuria. We perform image-guided biopsies and drainages on patients suffering from diverticulitis, appendicitis, and chronic diseases such as ulcerative colitis utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.
The department also conducts a high volume of prostate MRI and mapping blood supply through MRI for breast reconstruction surgery. Strong emphasis is placed on research activities, both in the department as well as for the Abdominal Radiology Fellowship program. Current studies include exploring complications of diverticulitis, comparing CT and ultrasound for women admitted to the ER with abdominal pain, and a pharmacological clinical trial using a drug to evaluate chronic pancreatitis on MRI.
