Meet Our Physicians

Eric Epstein, MD

Dr. Eric Epstein received his Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at Cornell University and received his medical degree from the University of Chicago - Pritzker School of Medicine.  He then completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center. During residency he studied glucose metabolism at Rockefeller University and was also the Assistant Chief Resident at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Canter Center.  He completed his fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine- Montefiore Medical Center where he studied the effects of bariatric surgery on weight loss and diabetes.  Dr. Epstein is currently active in clinical research and serves as a Contributing Editor for The Medical Letter.

Dina M. Began, MD

Dr. Dina Began, an Assistant Professor and board-certified dermatologist, completed her dermatology residency at Indiana University Medical Center, where she was named Chief Dermatology Resident. After a fellowship at New York University School of Medicine (NYU), she served on the dermatology faculties of NYU, the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and the medical staff of St. Vincent's Medical Center. She has contributed to various publications on subjects ranging from blistering disorders to gout and calcinosis cutis (calcium deposit skin disorder) and amyloidosis.

Susan Wallis, MD

Dr. Susan Wallis, is a Clinical Educator in Rheumatology at Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital, who also oversees a clinic at Montefiore's Westchester County facility in Scarsdale, New York. During medical school at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Medical School for International Health in Beer Sheva, Israel, she conducted clinical research in Ethiopia on leprosy. Upon earning her medical degree, she completed her residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University Jacobi Medical Center and her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Michigan, where she studied the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.
