With 40 years of leadership in transplantation, Montefiore is committed to the care of adult and pediatric transplant patients with conditions affecting the heart, liver, kidney and pancreas. The Montefiore Einstein Center for Transplantation blends state-of-the-art medical and surgical care in a compassionate, patient-centric environment, resulting in the best possible outcome for our patients.
Heart Transplantation Our cardiac surgeons and cardiologists are dedicated to patients with heart failure. Careful review of every patient determines their suitability for a transplant or bridge to a transplant with a mechanical heart called an LVAD (left ventricular assist device). In some cases, patients may be eligible for a permanent or destination LVAD if they do not qualify for a heart transplantation. In addition, some patients may recover heart function. Intense research by our team has helped identify patients who may be successfully bridged to recovery. From diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation, our goal is to consistently and effectively return transplant patients to healthy, happy and productive lives. Liver Transplantation We have a highly advanced multidisciplinary center for adults and children with liver disease. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we offer personalized care and uphold the strictest standards for safety and quality. Find out more about the Kidney Transplant Program.
