Montefiore Medical Center Offers Free Women's Health Screenings on Oct. 3

Free screenings offered in recognition of First Saturday in October and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

  WHAT:

Montefiore Medical Center joins Latinas Fighting Breast Cancer in offering medical screenings and information for women at a special women's health event. The event, the Second Annual Dr. Edward S. Greenwald Women's Health Screening, is named in honor of the late Montefiore oncologist Dr. Edward Greenwald, who for years served as chairman of the medical center's First Saturday in October screening.

This year's screening event is open to all women in the community, including those without insurance, and will provide:

  • Breast exams and Pap smears for women 18 and older
  • Mammograms for women 40 and older
  • Health education information concerning women's health issues
  • Free education on how to perform breast self-examination

All services will be provided free of charge for women without insurance. Co-pays will apply the day of the event for women with insurance.
